MOTHERS // PART 2

just in case you missed the intro to my last entry....

At the beginning of last semester I set out to start a photography project documenting the young mothers of Provo, UT. Being pregnant, I'll admit much of the motivation behind the project was to see for myself the everyday life of stay at home moms, but also to shed light on a culture of women, (most of whom have obtained at least a bachelors degree) who forgo a career to stay at home with their children. It was my hope to show the relationships developed between mother and child and the ups and downs of parenting. I soon realized that in order to get real unabashed images, I would have to spend WAY more time than I actually had photographing these moms. Regardless, I still feel I got some images worth posting, and that hopefully mean something to the mom and child in them.

“There is no greater good in all the world than motherhood. The influence of a mother in the lives of her children is beyond calculation."
- James E. Faust
